The new iPad announced as the new iPad!

As many tech lovers and Apple enthusiasts tuned in to the Apple conference to hear about the new iPad, it felt like Apple were stalling on releasing the name of their latest iDevice. Tangled within the hype train that has for months coined Apple's latest tablet as the iPad 3, iPad HD or even 2S (a shameful gimmic after the upgrade from iPhone 4 to 4S), few would have considered the new iPad to have "The new iPad" embossed upon it's birth certificate.

With a UK release date of March 16th, retailers are quick to home in on the new iPad release. Mobiles.co.uk already appear to have an interest list where you sign to receive up to the minute Pre-order info on the New iPad.

The full specs of the New iPad look pretty tasty, with a much needed camera upgrade from 1 to 5 megapixels. The new camera called iSight, uses the same lenses as the revolutionary iPhone 4S. It's a shame they haven't included the same 8 megapixel camera, but with 1080p high definition video record, the new iPad offers a great improvement in capturing your favourite footage.

Visuals are also much improved with a Retina Display, claiming to have more pixels within the 9.7 inch display than on a 1080p television. Eitherway, 3.1 million pixels on the new iPad sounds a lot to me! With a processor chip upgrade, the new dual core chip offers additional quad core graphics - Nintendo and Sony must be quaking in their boots! With 4G capabilities the new iPad is ready to take on the promised faster internet speeds we could see in the UK within the next few years (2014 perhaps?).

Interestingly the release of iOS 5.1, offers an Australian Siri for our friends down under. It's not as if there was ever a translation barrier. Horu!

I wonder when March 7th 2013 pops around, what will we call the new iPad? The confusion already begins; am I talking about the name of the Apple iPad called the New iPad or the new iPad that will be released in 2013? Time for bed, before my brain melts...
